Review: InterAct StarFire
Lightblaster First off, I was a bit surprised when i opened the box, because the StarFire Lightblaster looks a bit different than on the box. The trigger, reload button, and d-pad are a different shape, and the buttons are different colors. No biggie, but something that caught my eye. The folks at Interact have made this gun very light, which is great for those prolonged, arm-wearying HotD2 sessions. Put in a VMU or rumble pack inside, however, and the gun feels very solid. The StarFire Lightblaster is feature-rich, but most of them are useless. The reload button (located slightly in front of the trigger) is a good idea, but you have to reach and strain in order to depress it, making shooting off the screen a more practical way to reload. The gun also has several fire modes, but those end up feeling like novelties rather than helping you out. This light-gun is far from perfect, though. The trigger feels cheap, and accuracy is spotty. The sight sometimes jiggles on screen, making your shots stray about a centimeter off the target if fired rapidly. If you've purchased HotD2 without a light-gun, then you owe it to yourself to buy the StarFire Lightblaster. It's a very average product, but since it's the only light-gun on the market right now, your choices are pretty limited.
