December 29, 1999 Dead or Alive 2 Arcade
Revision Tecmo has listened to fans and are releasing a revised version of
their arcade-hit, Dead or Alive 2. Although nothing has been confirmed, but this is
probably the version that will make it to the Dreamcast in February.
Dreamcast A-OK for Y2K Many people were curious as to what would happen with the Dreamcast
and the whole Y2K issue, but Sega wants to reassure everyone that the DC is fully
compliant for the next millenium.
Virtua Cop 2 Announced It seems that Sega will release Virtua Cop 2 for the Dreamcast on
March 2, 2000 in Japan for a reduced price of ¥2800. Not a bad deal, but unless they pump
up the graphics of this aged title, we're left to wonder why, when they could port newer
shooters like Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Let's hope Sega comes through for us.
December 28, 1999 Sega GT Preview Update Sega has released a brief, albeit informative car list that shows what
we can expect when the game hits in Japan this coming February. Check out the updated

December 23, 1999 Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Details Capcom has announced that they will be producing a sequel to their
popular 2D arcade game, titled Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. They've also stated
that MvC2 will be made on Naomi hardware, meaning a Dreamcast translation should be speedy
and arcade-perfect. Released in arcades during the Spring of next year, the game will
feature 3 on 3 fighting, as well as a VMU slot, allowing DC owners to save their arcade
data.

Shen Mue Rated by Famitsu The picky crew from the Japanese Dreamcast
magazine called Famitsu have reviewed Shen Mue Chapter 1: Yokosuka.Their score stands at
33/40 (8, 8, 9, 8), but before you all get your panties in a twist, consider that, first,
few titles even make it into the 30s, and second, the Famitsu crew is pretty tough on new
genres.
Castlevania: Resurrection Delayed Adding to the string of delays is official word
from Konami that their biggest project, Castlevania: Resurrection will be postponed until
Fall 2000.
Site Update I've recently undergone surgery, so I'll be out

December 17, 1999 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Confirmed Rumors have brewed for a while on this game, but
finally, the critically-acclaimed PlayStation game is coming to the Dreamcast, courtesy of
Crave Entertainment. Along with a graphical boost, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater will add a four
player mode to the DC version.
Dreamcast Shortages Even with all the factories working overtime,
Sega of America simply cannot keep up with retailers' demands this holiday. They have
issued a warning to customers that they should buy Dreamcasts while they can in order to
beat the rush, so little Johnny doesn't end up being disappointed this Christmas.

has created a special Dreamcast 'parent pack' which bundles all the necessities and

Soul Calibur Sells a Million Namco announced that Soul Calibur has sold a
million copies world-wide. To commemorate this event, they are making a VMU game, which
will be available in the US pretty soon.
December 13, 1999 Ecco Gets a Date Ecco the Dolphin developer Appaloosa has
announced an April 7th release date in Europe, so expect the game in the states no later
than Summer 2000.
New Games Hit Shelves Both Incoming and Worms Armageddon have become
available in stores today. Also, Fighting Force II by Eidos will hit the shelves next
week.
December 11, 1999 Shen Mue Subtitle Options Yu Suzuki announced that Shen Mue will feature
five subtitle options:
Cinema: Voices are on, subtitles are off
Shen Mue: Voices are on, subtitles appear when you cancel voices
Game: Voices are on, subtitles are on
Text: Voices are off, subtitles are on
Kids: All Kanji (Chinese) lettering will appear as Japanese
Dreamcast Given Prestigious Award In the December 20, 1999 issue of Business Week,
the Dreamcast was named one of the "Best Products of 1999." Games like NFL 2K
and Soul Calibur are cited as proof of the revolutionary and innovative games that the DC
spawns.
