Review: Pelican 4X Memory Card The only thing that really upsets me about this card is that the 800 blocks of memory are broken down into four 200 block tables, so it's more like a 4-in-1 VMU than a memory card that offers four times the memory. To switch between the tables, you press a button on the side. There is a red and green light on the top of the unit, which lets you know which table you're using. Red and green lit up means 1, just red is 2, just green is 3, and neither green nor red is 4. If you ask me, it's the whole idea was just laziness on the designer's part, as it's pretty difficult to remember the order, or where you keep your save games Also, the memory card has no screen, which is why I'm calling it a memory card rather than a Visual Memory Unit (VMU). This is understandable, as the memory card is cheap enough (only $29.99), and adding a screen would cause the price to rise considerably. If you're tired of buying countless VMUs and want to save some money, go with the Pelican 4X. It's a sturdy device, and does everything as advertised.
